Believe in Yourself: The Power of Persistence and Determination

Luck plays a significant role in our lives, but there are people who work hard over several decades and SHAPES their own luck.

Nobel Prize winner Shuji Nakamura went to work every morning at 7 am and left work at 7 pm every night, and for 15 years, he created a blue LED that shines brightly like nothing else in the world.

His research was interrupted when the owner's son took over the company, and although he was lucky in his research, he did not receive much in return for his blue LED invention and had to fight a lawsuit against his company.

Most of the 2017 Nobel Prize winners are old researchers who are over or close to 80 years old.

Jacques Dubochet, Joachim Frank, and Richard Henderson were honored with the prestigious Nobel Prize for their groundbreaking work in advancing cryo-electron microscopy.

Their dedication to studying this technology, which was previously overlooked by many, spanned over three decades before the innovation of the direct electron detector.

Kyehyun Kyung, the former CEO of Samsung Electronics, found himself in tears as he stayed up until late into the night on research and development for DRAM technology.

“No matter how much I worked, it just kept piling up, and my research and work wasn't going well, so I was in a hopeless situation.”

He shared these sentiments during a lecture with students in Korea.

Despite facing hopeless situations, he persevered as a dedicated workaholic, never giving up and tirelessly working to overcome challenges and find solutions.

After overcoming the challenges of the memory chicken game in the 2000s, Samsung Electronics emerged as a top player in the production of DRAM, ultimately leading to Kyehyun Kyung's appointment as the CEO of the company.

During challenging times at work, I often reflect on the dedication of those remarkable individuals who devoted over 15 or even 30 years to their craft.

“Come on. I have only been about 6 years, so was there any struggle like them?”

I did not start business for a desire to win a Nobel Prize or becoming the CEO of Samsung Electronics, However, witnessing the unwavering determination of these exceptional researchers fills me with a sense of humility as an entrepreneur.

Often, the remarkable achievements of individuals who have faced decades of neglect and failure stem from their unwavering self-belief, relentless efforts, and resilience in the face of skepticism and ridicule.

I'm not hoping for BIG miracles, but I have faith that there's still a lot we can do with what Omnis Labs has, and that it's definitely worth it.

Thanks to the great people, I recently learned this:

During moments of exhaustion and doubt, I realized that without unwavering faith in my business, the business easily fails.

“I, more than anyone else, should believe in myself and my business. Because, if I don't believe in what I am doing, no one will believe in it and my business will fail.”

In other words, the founder must become the most passionate fanatic of his or her company.

We still have a lot of time left, and new users are joining Deep Block every day, so I plan to move forward with determination.

I will continue putting my effort to make a small miracle.
